K.O.P.E. with Kayaks provides support to those over 18 years old, including Parents and Carers. Volunteers provide 1-2-1 appointments either in person from The Hub or online to those who need it.
At the heart of The Kayaks Charity's mission is the weekly SEND Family Activity Session
The Kayaks Hub is a place to learn new skills, meet friends and have fun. We have a verity of clubs for families to take part in.
Our adult learning classes includes art, sewing, knitting, crocheting, decoupage, up- cycling, relaxation classes, fishing, orienteering and many more, keep a look out on our website to know what is going on.
We have a 16+ club, where our young people will learn many skills that will support them into their adult life. The skills include, food handling, learning hospitality skills, running a mock-tail bar, organising events and trips and so much more. We really want to invest in our members of all ages.
We will be continuing to providing support for those aged 10-13 to complete the Mayors Award, Bronze, Silver and Gold. We finished off with a lovely presentation night with the Mayor and Mayoress of South Tyneside awarding the certificates. We are keen to continue with the Duke of Edinburgh for those aged 14-25 and are currently training some volunteers to allow this to happen.
